useful, or not, but certainly an interesting idea

the discovery of the day

I think this one below will be published by our guest (his plz pix linked on the right). I'm just anticipating the facts 'cause' I admire his work (as a teacher and as a journalist.)

The Brown Sisters Project

In 1975 Nicholas Nixon started photographing his wife Bebe and her three sisters every year, once a year.
Always in the same order; Heather, Mimi, Bebe, Laurie.
This is the story !!!
Wonderful idea and beautiful photo story
The Brown Sisters Project

exactly! a great historical story. and that I really like: the expressive human face. unfortunately it is not very easy to get a really good face for shooting. but we need to keep trying. yes?
let's go to find my ten :-)

swinging imagination or iPhoneography NYC again

Yes, I saw all the pictures on iPhoneography NYC. I watch this blog for a long time, and began with the main blog 24gotham. But rarely has there appear new pictures, it appears, that a small camera iPhone is more handy than a big SLR ;-)
In total, I think so too. Yes, quality is important but not essential. We can have the best SLR camera, and don't taken interesting photos. Quality can be wonderful, but what will happen, that lack of ideas for interesting photos....NOTHING!!!
There are many such blogs in the network, where the authors brag that they are great cameras, which use aperture, exposure time, and so on.....and so on.....and....NOTHING!.......Their vision of the world is not interesting.
Photographer need a theme, passion and swinging imagination and at the end possibly good equipment.
Do you agree with this?

iPhoneography NYC - is one of the best blogs that I follow in the net.
And if I had to choose ten of my favorite photo blogs, iPhoneography NYC would have been there

PS:
Hey solar sister, or maybe some fun in selecting our ten favorite photoblogs?
Not individual photos, or gallery, but regular photoblogs?
Of course, we omit in this summary our blogs ;-)))
And it need not also be arranged in order, just ten favorites and inspiring photoblogs.
What do you think about? It's that cool and inspiring fun? ;-)
OK! If you agree, we have one week for this choice.

PS 2:
Then, another time can be: ten writers, ten artists, ten blogging about other topics......yeah, the list could be endless ;-)
F
Absolutely correct. Totally agree. I'm questioning my photographic action for some time.
...attempts to make something different. I can't. Complicated. Then I commit the same photos as always.
But what I value is persistence and we are persistent you and me. Because photography is the way to observe the life around.
I accept the challenges (10 new photography sites in a week is overkill for me ;-)but...
Go, go! I will do my contribution, OK?
B
PS: I appreciate your commitment to keeping this dialogue alive.

Yes, I know 'again a SlideShow'? but this is very special. NYCity as I see too. If you prefer can see HERE one at a time. AMAZED ME!

Yeah, this set charmed also me.
Everyday life, ordinary street scene.
Yeah, this kind of photography I appreciate and like more, than sleek and refined photos specifically for tourists.
Very good, that you find it and share and more such.....

Insulted by Authors - still books

and now my current reading
"Conversations with Zygmunt Bauman" He will be here on July. ;-)
B

Well, in Poland, he is not so valued. Mainly, that he promote communism and cooperation with the intelligence. The upside is that it does not displace his views and believes that this was the right thing at that time. I write, that's his advantage (no crowding out of ideas), because many famous people who have previously praised and supported the ideas of communism, now they say that's not true, or that they were forced to do so. And that's not true, then ordinary careerists and opportunists. Once they were the communists, now they are the great catholic....hahahahahah
F

so much to think about. This subject and your opinion is important to me.
Also Lech Walesa will be here in August.

undoubtedly a wonderful way to travel. priority and respect for cyclists NOW!
unfortunately it is not a Brazilian habit. Sao Paulo do not have biking trails. some people are risking their lives to defend this idea and practice it.
my collaboration on this topic. still NY.
B
Unfortunately, it is similar in Poland. Few bike lanes and cyclists ride through the streets and on sidewalks
F

ParisAvant.com
Each post is two pictures taken at the same place but at different times.
Divides them into about a hundred years
Interesting idea and I like this kind of blogs
F

This one Un Jour à Paris is visually beautiful (Paris today).
ParisAvant is just the comparative record I tried to make time ago. Excellent performance of the author. CGT to him.
spread 'memes'(ideas around the planet).
Note: in the old time people had the streets. Today the priority is thousands of cars.
